Toy Soldier Parachute Drop is an Intamin parachute drop located at Walt Disney Studios Park and Hong Kong Disneyland. The ride is themed off the 1995 Pixar film, Toy Story, the 1999 film, Toy Story 2, and the 2010 film, Toy Story 3.
Ride history
On September 6, 2010, the Maliboomer sling shot attraction closed at California Adventure. Their first suggestion for a replacement was the Green Army Men Parachute Drop, an Intamin parachute drop attraction themed after the Green Army Men from the Toy Story films. The park wanted to bring Toy Story into the park more. The plan was then scrapped and the sling shot was replaced with a solar garden. The year before, in 2009, construction began on the attraction as part of the Toy Story Playland expansion at Walt Disney Studios Park. The ride opened on August 17, 2010. While the ride started operating at Walt Disney Studios Park, construction began on the ride at Hong Kong Disneyland. It opened at Hong Kong Disneyland on November 17, 2011.
