Maliboomer was a former attraction at Disney's California Adventure in the Paradise Pier section. It opened with California Adventure on February 8, 2001. Maliboomer is themed like a "high striker" carnival game found on many boardwalks and in many carnivals (thus the numbers 100, 200, 300, etc. on the tower which are the points in the actual game). It was a Space Shot attraction, which had Scream Shields to block the noisy screams which would usually come from the ride.
Ride closure
As part of California Adventure's $1.1 billion expansion, Maliboomer was planned to be remodeled, but was later announced that the ride would be closed, likely because the ride was too similar to the Tower of Terror. After its last hours of operation on September 6, 2010, dismantling began and officially ended the day after.
Green Army Men Parachute Drop
Maliboomer was originally part of the Disney's California Adventure expansion, and was going under refurbishment as Green Army Men Parachute Drop, after the Toy Story army figurines Andy plays with. The attraction opened at Walt Disney Studios Park. The idea was scrapped and Maliboomer closed its doors on September 6, 2010, and is replaced by a solar garden. The original entrance is still visible, but blocked off with walls.
