The Jungle Cruise was an attraction located in Adventureland of Tokyo Disneyland at the Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan.

This version was based on the Magic Kingdom's Jungle Cruise, though it had some minor differences. These include scenes being put in different places and the boats traveling clockwise instead of counter-clockwise. The station and surrounding area was themed to a more upscale African city, as opposed to an isolated jungle outpost. This version shared a station building with the park's steam train ride, Western River Railroad. The spiels in Tokyo Disneyland were delivered in Japanese only and skippers bowed to the audience after each joke.

This incarnation of Jungle Cruise was replaced by Jungle Cruise: Wildlife Expeditions.

Attraction summary[]

The boat ride starts out in the Amazon River, where the passengers encounter butterflies with one-foot wingspans. The boat then passes Inspiration Falls, which transitions into the Congo River in Africa.

After encountering a bird on a branch and two African elephants, the boat arrives at a deserted beach with empty canoes. The boat then passes a camp that has been raided by western lowland gorillas and a gorilla reaching for an alligator, which transitions the cruise into the Nile River.

The boat passes along the African Veldt and riders see numerous African animals including giraffes, wildebeests, gazelles, vultures, and zebras watch a pride of lions feasting on a zebra beneath a rocky outcropping. The boat then passes a group of explorers that have been chased up a pole by an angry rhinoceros and are laughed at by spotted hyenas. The boat then passes by alligators and another waterfall, Schweitzer Falls. The boat then encounters a pool of hippos, about to charge the boat until the skipper scares them off. Drums are heard as the boat enters headhunter territory. Natives are seen dancing near the boat and guests soon find themselves in an ambush. The boat escapes, passes by Schweitzer Falls again, and heads into the Mekong River.

The boat passes alligators and enters a sunken temple. Inside is a Bengal tiger, some king cobras, and a golden statue. After the boat exits, guests come across an elephant bathing pool where numerous Indian elephants are relaxing in the water. The boat narrowly avoids being sprayed by water from one of the elephants and passes by a tree with a giant snake. The cruise concludes after passing Salesman Sam, a salesman offering bananas.
